HSPC announces the re-opening of Achilleion Museum of Corfu

Hellenic State Properties Company (HSPC) that manages Achilleion Museum of Corfu would like to inform you that the Museum reopens today, 14th May 2021.

Visitors can once again visit and admire this emblematic monument of cultural heritage, according to the instructions of National Public Health Organization (NPHO) and the Ministry of Culture and Sports, for the protection and safety of visitors and staff.
Today’s reopening of the Achilleion marks HSPC’s intention to support the national effort to restart Greek tourism, acknowledging the importance of culture as an integral part of the country’s tourism product.
It is worth noting that Achilleion Museum is an important cultural pole of Greece, and Corfu’s most popular destination, which contributes significantly to the island’s tourism development. HSPC’s goal, regarding Achilleion Museum of Corfu, is be constantly upgraded and established as an important cultural and touristic pole, creating multiple benefits both to the local community and to Greece, as a top tourist destination.
It is also reminded that for the time being, restoration works of the Monument are carried out, in the framework of the project entitled “Restoration and Promotion of the Complex of Achilleion in Corfu (Phase B)”. The project is implemented by HSPC with financial resources of NSRF and in collaboration with the Ministry of Culture and Sports and the Ionian Island Regions. The completion of this important project will fully highlight the Achilleion, as a center of cultural interest of Corfu and Greece as a whole, restoring this emblematic monument to its rightful place.
